As an artist my passion is finding inspiration in the ordinary. That inspiration can strike on a walk, at a bus stop, in a restaurant, or visiting with a friend. These flashes of insight remind me to be present in the moment. I often take photos and use them as the starting point for a painting. My I-Phone gives me instant documentation, but when I am at the easel, engaged in my process, I begin to see these everyday digital images transform, emerging into something divine. I love to paint real people going about their daily routines and elevate that experience to something that the viewer may find thought-provoking through their own interpretation.
